Telstra fined $18.5m for anti-competitive behaviour - ABC News Australian Broadcasting Corporation

Telstra fined $18.5m for anti-competitive behaviour - ABC News Australian Broadcasting Corporation.

As you can see by the link above, Telstra (finally) have been held accountable for thier behaviour.

It's about time they were told and paid for not allowing proper access to exchanges.

In my opinion the best thing that can happen is the NBN to kill the need for copper or for Telstra to go belly up and free up the "Public Infrastructure" for the public (via private Telco's) to get back full and fair access to our copper and exchanges.

This all may be a non issue once NBN and other technoogies such at LTE are in full operation but for now it is a major concern. It's also one of the main reasons Australia is so behind in it's broadband access and pays so much for it.

The near future will be very interesting, perhaps one day, maybe even soon, we will get access to good value, high speed data access.
